I am somewhat of a beauty products junkie. It started when I was pregnant and I couldn’t shop for clothes. I was able to get my style fix by visiting the MAC store and Sephora. My splurges on makeup have tapered off a little, but every now and then I come across something new that really rocks my world. These are four of those things.
1) the original beautyblender: This is a makeup sponge applicator used to apply primers, creams and foundations. Like the name suggests, this tool helps you blend a nice even coverage of makeup seamlessly onto your skin. Prior to using the beautyblender, I have gone back and forth between using my fingers and a makeup brush, but now this is all I will use.
2) Dior Addict Lip Glow: I had to try this after reading all of the positive reviews of this product. I have been looking for something that moisturizes and provides a subtle, but natural color. This does that. I would call this a balm more than a lipstick, but it is perfect for me when I am at preschool drop off and don’t need or want to be all “made up.”
3) Big Sexy Hair Play & Spray: There are two reasons why I love this: 1) It provides a stay-in-place hold without looking too firm or sticky and 2) it comes in a handy travel size that you can throw in a bag or take on a trip.
4) thebalm Mary-Lou Minizer: This is my favorite new-to-me product. A sweep of this powder on to the top of your cheekbones gives you a shimmery glow. Unlike most pigmented highlighters, this product’s neutral dewy appearance isn’t too over-the-top. Bonus: it comes with a soft, velvety brush for application.
